About the Fastest Sport On Two Feet:
The first sport of the United States, and the fastest growing sport as well, lacrosse is a "club" sport at Harry A. Burke High School. Freshman through seniors can participate, and everyone who is part of the team will get playing time. Lacrosse doesn't discriminate against size, or height. Anyone who picks up a stick falls in love with the sport. Our season is in the spring and can be played while participating in a sanctioned sport like track or baseball. We flex with the sanctioned sport schedules to get the most out of every player and help improve them as an individual. Along with our spring season, we also run practices and conditioning through the fall and winter for various tournaments that we participate in.
Summer lacrosse is gearing up! The Omaha Summer League Organization (OSLO) is beginning on May 31st. The league will be separated in two halves (Varsity and JV). This league is open to all incoming freshman through graduated seniors. OSLO is a great opportunity to get a jump start on lacrosse if you have never played! Or, if you already have experience with lacrosse, this is a great way to improve your skills on the field! The cost is $80 a player. Each player will have equal playing time. Multiple high school coaches will be mentoring players and our high school league referees will be working all games. A trainer will be on site. Also included is a lacrosse pinnie (jersey)!
Lacrosse gear is required to play - contact Coach Schneider for inquiries about borrowing gear to learn the sport!

Athletes: Take care of your bodies
As we enter the season make sure you are taking care of your body! You only get one of those! We went through winter training and began spring ball very quickly yet we must not forget to take care of the vessel that carries the lacrosse talent. Make sure to keep up on fluids and fuel your body with good things. No fast food, soda, or candy! The machine will produce the most power with the proper fuel.
And with that being said, anyone who is INJURED:
Here is your checklist:
Ice, heat? Make sure to apply ice after and heat before use of ligament, muscle, or bone during the season.
Pressure, elevate, wrap? If you have a sprain or roll; make sure to apply PRESSURE with a wrap, while icing and heating, and elevate the injured portion of your body! Keep swelling down!
Epsom salt baths are extremely helpful.
IBUPROFEN! Always medicate when injured, but do NOT overdose.
